The First Flight Theatre Company Audition Information for Declaration adapted by Frank Farrell, Lynn Manuell and Ben Masterton and directed by Lynn Manuell with music composed by Ben Masterton and musical direction by Lisa Plasse.
AUDITION DATE: Saturday, June 6 from 12 noon - 4pm at the Hermitage, 335 North Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423.
First Flight Theatre Company is looking for local nonunion New Jersey actors (18 and older) for their upcoming musical production of Declaration based on the Declaration of Independence. If interested in auditioning please email firstflight2018@gmail.com with an hour that works for you on Saturday, June 6, between 12 noon and 3:30pm. First Flight will email back a specific 10-minute audition slot. Walk-Ins are welcome.
For the audition Actors should prepare a one-to-two-minute memorized dramatic monologue and bring a photo and resume. Actors are encouraged to send First Flight a video of their singing in advance of their audition and actors are welcome to sing a 1-to-2-minute song of their choice acapella at their in-person audition. Actors will be asked to read from the script. Sides from the script for the auditions are attached above.
Actors cast will be given a $125 stipend to help with their transportation expenses.
REHEARSALS DATES: Saturdays and Sundays, 12 noon - 4pm, June 27 & 28, July 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, & 26 and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, July 29, 30, & 31 from 6pm - 9pm at the Hermitage.
TWO PERFORMANCES: Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 3pm and 7pm at the Hermitage.
The Hermitage
Characters – A six member acting group rehearses a new musical called Declaration based on the Declaration of Independence. They are a varied bunch of actors (any age 18 and older). Actor 1 - troop leader, Actor 2 – spiritual, Actor 3 – critic, Actor 4 – academic, Actor 5 – comic, Actor 6 - King George and landowner
